Terra de Mareas do Nordes

A family project focused mainly on the production of varietal Albariño white wines, Bodega Terra de Mareas do Nordes is situated in Cobas (Meaño), in the very heart of DO Rías Baixas.

An up-and-coming winery, Terra de Mareas do Nordes currently farms 15 hectares of vineyards 35 to 40 years of age, most of which are planted with Albariño vines. The company also grows the local red varieties Mencía, Caíño Tinto and Loureiro, as well as some forgotten local varieties that are currently being put back into production. The fact that very few bottles are produced of each vintage makes it possible for the winery to put an exquisite attention to detail in every stage of wine production.

The head winemaker of Bodega Terra de Mareas do Nordes is Mr. Pablo Estévez, the winner of the 2019 “Spain’s Best Young Wines Oenologist” award. The grapes are handpicked, selected, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Like vineyard management, vinification follows minimal intervention criteria, so that terroir can speak for itself.
