Terramoll

Located in the enchanting island of Formentera, an area with a centuries-old winemaking tradition, the wines from Bodega Terramoll are marketed under the designation Vinos de la Tierra Formentera.

Founded in 2000, Bodega Terramoll currently farms 20 hectares of vineyards following the guidelines of organic agriculture. The winery grows both international varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Viognier, and traditional ones, such as White Grenache, Malvasía, Moscatel de Grano Menudo (Muscat) and Monastrell. Concerning the latter, it is worth mentioning that Es Monestir, the flagship red wine of Bodega Terramoll, is produced solely from a 2-hectare vineyard planted with ungrafted Monastrell vines. A rare treat indeed.

Hand-harvested in 12 kg boxes, the grapes are first selected on site. Once in the facilities of Bodega Terramoll, they are selected again so that only the very best and healthiest grapes go into the vinification tanks. This meticulous selection process allows the winery to produce organic wines with very low levels of sulphur.

Each grape variety is separately harvested and vinified. Alcoholic fermentation and subsequent skin maceration take place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature. With regard to oak aging, Bodega Terramoll uses only new and semi-new French barrels.

Year after year, Bodegas Terramoll works hard to capture the sense of place of Formentera, a  magical Mediterranean island.
