Viña Nora

Located near the basin of the Miño river, the Viña Nora winery owns 14 hectares of vines and supervises another 100 hectares owned by local peasants in the regions of Condado de Tea, Val de Salnés and Ribeira do Ulla. All of them are Albariño vineyards, from which Viña Nora crafts some of the most exquisite single varietal white wines in Rías Baixas.

At an altitude below 300 metres, all of the vineyards benefit from the cooling effect of the neighbouring river. They are harvested by hand and, once in the cellar, cold-macerated to enhance the aromatic expression of the grapes.

The wines by Bodega Viña Nora are truly noteworthy. Lively, delicately unctuous Albariños fermented in French oak barrels. Interestingly, this is not a modern technique, but an old procedure in a region where the wines used to be aged in oak vats for two years before being sold.
