The whisky Yamazaki 18 Years is definitely one of the great Single Malts from the land of the rising sun. This Japanese whisky of the Yamazaki distillery, the oldest in the country, has received numerous international awards over the years.
After being meticulously fermented and distilled, this Single Malt from Japan matured in oak barrels for 18 years. Roughly three quarters of this Single Malt whisky matured in Sherry seasoned oak barrels, and the rest matured in American oak and Mizunara oak barrels.
The appearance of the whisky Yamazaki 18 Years black label is very attractive, mahoganny-coloured with some dark copper reflections. The aromatic intensity of this 18 year old whisky is truly astounding, displaying aromas of aged Oloroso, herbs de Provence, black truffles, pine needles and candied ginger, evolving into tobacco, English custard, ripe apples and black pepper. This Yamazaki whisky has a very long finish, leaving a remembrance of orchard fruit, fine wood and dry fruit.
